Pamela Gilchrist, MA, APR, CPT Named PRSA Werner-Vonderhaar-Bogart Award Recipient

Cincinnati PRSA has named Pamela Gilchrist Corson, MA, APR, CPT, as the 2019 Werner-VonderHaar-Bogart Award (WVB) winner. Often considered a lifetime achievement, the WVB Award is the highest honor offered by the Cincinnati Chapter of Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). It recognizes a public relations professional who has made significant contributions in four key areas: the community, chapter, profession and PRSA.

Gilchrist has pursued the social science of public relations with integrity and passion since she was 16. She builds greater mutual understanding between clients and their stakeholders through integrated strategies and behavioral communications.

After a successful career serving inside Fortune 500 companies and at a Columbus, Ohio agency, Pam launched PR~Link Public Relations, LLC in 1999. The firm rebranded as Gilchrist Group in 2010. Her experience includes B2B, B2C, tech and not-for-profits, with an emphasis on growth and change. Organizations seek out Pam for executive leadership consulting, go-to-market strategies and reputation management.

Pam has contributed to PRSA including serving on the boards and leadership teams of both the Cincinnati and Central Ohio PRSA Chapters. She has also served as a National Assembly delegate, Counselor’s Academy and East Central District speaker, APR course leader, and as a PRSSA Chapter Advisor for the University of Cincinnati. She is a member of the PRSA Counselors Academy and PR Roundtable. Her previous memberships include Pittsburgh PRSA, West Michigan PRSSA and The Ohio State University PRSSA.

Her work has been recognized with awards from PRSA Central Ohio, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati Chapters, the PRSA East Central District, and an International Public Relations Association (IPRA) Golden World Award. Cincinnati PRSA has named her PR Professional of the Year and Independent Practitioner of the Year. She is also a past Business Courier Forty Under 40 honoree (Class of 2000).

Pam is past president of the National Speakers Association Ohio Chapter, where she has been recognized with top honors. She is a frequently requested national conference speaker. In 2018, she was asked to be a founding faculty member for the Talent Magnet Institute, a leadership development consulting consortium, based in Northern Kentucky.

Pam holds an M.A. in journalism/PR from The Ohio State University and a B.S. in communications/music from Western Michigan University. She has taught public relations and communications courses at Northern Kentucky University, University of Cincinnati and Xavier University. She is a certified Enneagram Personality style trainer and Dale Carnegie presenter. She has been published in the New York Times best-selling Chicken Soup for the Soul series.
